Stainless steel material
Chrome---Steel 18/0(ASTM 430)
Contains 18% Chrome and 0% nickel, most of the cutlery items sold in Europe and US are made of Chrome- steel, cutlery items made of this material are dishwasher suitable, but we recommend hand washing, as electro-chemical processes and aggressive detergents may cause corrosion.
Chrome---Steel 13/0
Contains 13% and 0% nickel, this material we recommend two items, ASTM 410 and ASTM 420 Stainless Steel ,
ASTM 410 is for general usage, can be used for spoon/fork and knife cold worked.
ASTM 420 is specially for knife, also named higher carbon knife steel. This type of material increase the hardness of blade after tempered and ensure the sharpness and durability of the knife blade for a longer period of time.
Chrome-nickel-steel 18/10
Contains approx. 17-19% Chrome and 8 up to 10% nickel, which is more durable than Chrome-Steel against corrosion and commercially known as “dishwasher- safe”, so this material is used for the production of upmarket stainless steel cutlery with more shinning brightness than Chrome-Steel cutlery.
We can recognize the Chrome-steel and Chrome-nickel-steel thanks to their magnetic response, the Chrome-nickel-steel is non-magnetic and therefore show no response to a magnet.
